CELEBRATING DIVERSE COMMUNITIES

“MCWH!” has been working in partnership with the staff at the Donald Hope Library to organise a programme of events to celebrate Black History Month. These include weekly music mayhem sessions, a family quiz, a coffee afternoon with the Merton Unity Network, a rhyme time with local author Lorraine Simeon, and sharing the literature and poetry of black authors.

2. POETRY CIRCLE

Read your own poetry or favourite Afro-Caribbean poem, from 5.30 to 6.30pm on Thursday 18th, at the library.

3. BOOK GROUP

Discussion about “The Snow Geese” by William Fiennes – “an inspired work of natural history and travel” - from 5.30pm to 6.30pm on Tuesday 23rd October at the library.

4. “COME TO THE CABARET!”

Come along to St. Joseph’s Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday 27th, for an evening of music, poetry, storytelling, and political and social satire with the Collywood Cabaret Collective. Tickets £5. Bar and refreshments.

5. “SINGING FOR ALL, SINGING FOR FUN!”

The Colliers Wood Chorus sings songs from all over the world and welcomes local singers of all ages and abilities – for further details check our website on collierswoodchorus.org.uk.
